Belize in Love or I am in Love with Belize?

There is no doubt that Belize is filled with magic. Magic that comes from deep within the earth and the sea. That is kept alive by the ancient creatures of water and land, and Gene Simmons.

And, it seems, there was magic aplenty so that Shannon Tweed said yes when Gene Simmons, frontman of heavy rock group KISS, finally asked her to marry him.

Tonight’s season finale of the A&E show Gene Simmons Family Jewels has Gene, on bended knee and with tongue appropriately in place asking for Ms. Tweeds hand in marriage. And after 28 years of cohabitating, putting up with Simmons admitted rock n’ roll lifestyle, womanizing and two children, Nick and Sophie, who are now grown off to college and their lives, it seems it was not too late to ask.

For the chance to see some footage from Belize, the preview video seems to be on the piers at Ramons Village Resort on Ambergris Caye, and to see if Belize has that much magic in her, it might be worth watching the show that airs tonight (For local show times visit A&E TV on line; it will surely be available in rerun).

If instead of watching the palm trees wave on the beach, you want to be under the palm trees on the beach, visit the Belize in Love Facebook page and enter to win a romantic five-night vacation for two in Belize. The sweepstakes ends August 19, 2011 so I would head over and enter and while you are there, check out some of the great photos.

Winners of the trip will find themselves at the Ka’ana Boutqiue Resort and the Lamani Outpost Lodge, both on the mainland where you can visit incredible Mayan temple ruins.

Then two nights at Victoria House where the chef, Jose Luis Ortega is a master.

And here is an insider’s tip. Plan on time, before you leave, to take the Belikin Beer tour. The brewery is located just a few moments from the airport and at the end of the tour, a visit to the tasting lounge – its beer plus. Fresh, cold, from the tap in one of the nicest taverns you will find, and you will know you found heaven.
